〉Originally a graduate agronomist, I completed my studies with a Master’s degree at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) in Marseille.
I completed a thesis in Science, Technology and Society on varietal creation in viticulture at the Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique (INRA). I worked on mildew- and powdery mildew-resistant varieties, which make it possible to reduce the use of phytosanitary products, but raise a number of questions (about the quality of said resistance, about the taste or about the biological nature of these vines…). I approached them through Sciences and Technology Studies (STS). I did my thesis in a research laboratory at the Ecole des Mines, the Centre de Sociologie de l’Innovation (CSI), which is developing a wide range of work on technical objects and the intimate but sometimes complex relationships between Science and Society.
I’m joining CIRED (under the supervision of Yann Kervinio) and EHESS for 2 years as part of a research project entitled “Substituting water to anticipate scarcity – Agricultural infrastructures in the making of futures”. From an STS perspective, I want to describe the controversies surrounding agricultural infrastructures and how they crystallize different visions of the future. In this way, I hope to contribute to a fruitful field of study on the future of sociology, but also to question more precisely the relationships between infrastructures, agricultural worlds, environments and societies.
